Workforce Nutrition

Nourishing People, Strengthening Workplaces

The Workforce Nutrition Programme is a collaborative initiative to enhance the health and well-being of workers through sustainable nutrition solutions at the workplace and in the community. It focuses on improving access to, and demand for, healthier diets through workplaces (e.g., garment factories) or supply chains (e.g. tea estates, smallholder maize farmers). As co-convenor of the global Workforce Nutrition Alliance, GAIN brings together experts and thought leaders, provides employers with tools and resources, and curates data on best practices. Our flagship project, SWAPNO, focuses on garment workers in Bangladesh and uses a multi-pronged approach to improve awareness, access, and practices related to healthy eating.

Strengthening Workers’ Access to Pertinent Nutrition
Opportunities

SWAPNO is a pioneering effort under the Workforce Nutrition Programme,
focused on improving nutrition outcomes for garment workers in Bangladesh.
